Game Night: NOLA Edition

Well, sort of.

You may remember some crazy stories about our game night group.  We gather on the first Friday of the month.  And back in August, we had a wild hair and headed to New Orleans for game night.  {Living in Tennessee and all, you understand why it was such an ordeal, with flights and hotels and all...}

For November's game night, we're bringing New Orleans to us...in the way of the menu.  I have made 24 mini muffelattas, prepped my beignets (Cafe Du Monde's mix of course!), and cooked the chicken for the jambalaya.  That leaves the cajun crab dip, crawfish boulettes, and final prep of the jambalaya for tomorrow.  I can manage that, surely.

Now, if only I knew what game we were going to play...any suggestions?

  2. Partini is a fun one...the usual Taboo or Cranium.

    One game, in particular, was a lot of fun. It is called Left, Right, Center and is played with real money!

    Everyone brings nine one dollar bills, and you take turns rolling this special die that has an "L" "R" "C" and special dot on it. If you roll an "L" give a dollar to the person on your left, "R" to the person on your right, "C" and the dollar goes into a center pile. If you roll and it lands on the special dot, you get to keep your dollar (at least for that turn.) Play moves counter clockwise.

    Eventually you get down to two people, and the last person with a dollar(s) wins all of the money! ($54 dollars if you're playing with 6 people!)

    The best part is after a few rounds, someone could be sitting their with no money, and the player to their left or right could roll and "R" or "L" and have to give a dollar to them. So, they're back in the game, just like that!

    It's a lot of fun! (Sorry for the long explanation!) Definitely play it with your friends...
